The Thinking Girl’s Trendy Travel Trends:
Tips for the Solo Female Traveller.
By Florin R. Ferrs
We all know where Stella got her groove back, but where does the thinking solo traveler go to expand her mind, taste buds and friendships?
First of all, I would recommend that she signs up for the vayama travel deals newsletter, not only will she get tips on the cheapest airfares to trendy international destinations, but as a subscriber, she may actually win one of their monthly prices, like the pair of free tickets to South Africa they are giving away this month (see banner below).
Here are vayama’s top 5 Trendy Travel destinations that will fit the thinking travelling woman like a glove (ok a Tai Chi boxing glove).
Mexico City: Believe it or not, Mexico City is a wonderful place for solo female travellers, the Museo Nacional de Antropología is the Louvre of Pre-Hispanic art and Chapultepec Castle offers a view into Hapsburg Mexico, as well as the best views of the city’s skyline. Posh boutiques, great restaurants and trendy lounges line the Polanco District and great art and crafts are available from Frida Kahlo’s house, and also in the Bazar de Los Sabados in San Angel. Follow the tracks of the Beat Poets in the bohemian enclave of Roma and admire Spanish baroque colonial architecture versus ancient Aztec temples under the Zocalo. Use the Turibus hop on and off bus to get around the city during the day and radio taxis at night (your hotel will provide the numbers for the best taxi companies). Vayama has airfares from the west coast to Mexico city from $414 total.
Madrid: Viva España! Celebrate Spanish culture in Madrid. The Museo del Prado is one of the best in Europe, admire classic paintings by El Greco, Goya and Velazquez. Check out Museo del Jamon, for the best Iberic Ham and then go Tasca hopping all night long. Vayama has airfares from the east coast to Madrid from $660 total.

She wants her groove back.
Cairo: Egypt can be a challenge for the solo female traveller, but don’t let this prevent you from admiring the Pyramids. The Cairo metro has 2 cars in the middle of the train that are exclusive for women. Taxies are the best ways to get around the city and avoid the touts. You can always join up with a group of fellow travellers from your hostel or hotel if you feeling overwhelmed, but don’t worry, Cairo can be chaotic, but the Egyptian Museum, and the Giza plateau more than make up for it, plus the food is great and the people are generally friendly. Fly from the east coast to Cairo from $689 total.
Nice: Côte d’Azur is a solo female traveller paradise. Get a tan on the Boulevard de la Croisette with a cosmopolitan in one hand and a Nicoise salad in the other. Vayama has east coast to Nice flights $760 this summer.
Guangzhou: China is one of the safest places on earth for solo female travellers. Cantonese food is world famous and nowhere fresher than in Guangzhou. Shopping is a national sport here, with entire shopping malls dedicated to locally made bijoux, shoes and leather goods. Guangzhou will be the host city for the Asian games of 2010 and many new stadiums and the new Canton tower are been finished in time for the games, showcasing China’s spectacular modern architecture. Vayama has airfares from the West coast to Guangzhou from $842 total.
Please feel free to send any additional tips for female solo travellers; we will post the best ones on this same space. Enjoy your solo wonderings.

With havin so much content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright infringement? My site has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any solutions to help stop content from being stolen? I’d genuinely appreciate it.
