JAT Airways
With roots back to 1927, JAT Airways became the national carrier of Serbia in 2003 as the new incarnation of the former Yugoslav Aerotransport of Yugoslavia. They operate scheduled domestic and international service from the base in Belgrade, Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport as well as from the secondary hub in Nis, Niš Constantine the Great Airport. JAT Airways flies to many destinations in Eastern, Central and Western Europe and some in Africa and the Middle East. The frequent flier program, A Trip More, is based on collecting trips; ten trips within 12 months earn a free ticket. Agreements with Lufthansa allow members of their Miles and More frequent flier program to collect miles on JAT Airways. The first airline in Europe to operate a Boeing 737-300, JAT Airways now has a large fleet of Boeing 737-300s and Boeing 737-400s and uses ATR-72 turboprops primarily for short haul flights. Plans for 2007 include new seats in economy and business class, upgraded in-flight entertainment systems and joining the global alliance Skyteam. IATA named JAT Airways one of Europe’s safest airlines in 2004.Number of Airplanes :
