yes tip!! At least in Sao Paulo the service is really good. The 10% here is shared with everybody, people in kitchen, hostess, waiters etc, isn't only for people that serve your table. I don't tip if the service is bad, otherwise tip tip tip. The Brazilians deserve it!!! They work hard and the salary is based on the tips, because the actual payment is really low…

DON'T tip at restaurants unless the service was outstanding. It's not customary in Brazil. There is usually a 10% service fee at the end of the bill, but paying it is optional.
 
DON'T tip cab drivers. The bill for a taxi ride is rounded up to the next whole number.
 
DO give a small tip to hotel porters. R$5 to R$10 will do.
