Web Designer / Graphic Artist (Part Time)

Position Web Designer / Graphic Artist (Part Time)
Job Description Airtrade International Inc. / vayama is looking to hire a part time web designer and/or graphic artist. This position is an entry level position or may be appropriate for a more experienced web designer that is looking for part time work. The web designer will work with our senior web designer to complete website development and graphic design for the vayama site. Typical work assignements will include: graphic / banner development, page design and layout, and light javascript. This is a good opportunity for someone looking to apply graphic / web design skills from school or someone looking to increase their skills in the web design area.

Please note: that we will not consider design agencies responding to this posting. Also, this is not a remote position, and being in our offices is required.

Location: Mountain View, CA.
Qualifications / Requirements Note: Please make sure that you have the appropriate qualifications before applying.
  • B.S. / B.A., Associates Degree or equivilent in electronic media, web design, or computer science. We require the candidate to have some formal web design training. Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Portfolio or examples of work (school projects are acceptable)
  • Good knowledge of HTML, CSS and modern XHTML development techniques
  • Good creative and layout abilities
  • Working knowledge of javascript and usage to power web pages
  • Experience with Dreamweaver or other HTML editor
  • Experience with photoshop, illustrator or other graphics tool
Job Responsibilities
  • Design, layout and construct HTML web pages
  • Design banners and other vayama graphics
  • Complete light javascript coding to enable functionality on vayama web pages
Compensation / Benefits
  • $15 - $25 / hr based upon experience
  • Can provide 20-30 hours a week of work
  • Flexible work scheduling
  • Possible transition to full-time based upon performance
