Vayama.com Helps Travelers Make the Most of Europe’s Shoulder Season

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., August 29, 2012 – As summer draws to a close, hopeful travelers can take advantage of the European shoulder season with online travel agency, Vayama.com. A leader in international travel, Vayama.com can attest to this well kept secret and works to present customers with the best flight fares and hotel rates available.

“For savvy travelers, September and October is the perfect time to visit Europe,” explains Ted Jansen, Executive Vice President Americas at Travix International, and head of Vayama.com. “With fewer people traveling than during the high season, there is more availability in almost every destination. That translates to more deals and discounted rates. We’ve observed travelers saving as much as 20-30% on airfare when booking their fall travels with Vayama.com.”

In addition to air and hotel discounts, visiting major attractions and museums is often more affordable and convenient due to shorter wait times and commonly discounted admission fees.

As the warm weather holds, locals return from their summer travels and kick off seasonal celebrations such as Oktoberfest in Germany or the Eurochocolate festival in Italy. There is no shortage of activities or sights to see.

Vayama.com’s extensive offering of airlines, international flights and low fares helps travelers book not only the major European cities such as Paris, Rome, Barcelona and Munich, but also provides access to many remote and less traveled destinations as well. Some trips worth considering this fall include:

London, England – Now that the Olympics have wrapped up, it is a great time to tour this world-class city without the crowds and inflated prices.

Reykjavik, Iceland – Marvel at the Northern Lights or enjoy an adventurous trip of unique outdoor excursions before the cold weather sets in. Those looking to relish in local culture can even participate in the annual sheep-rounding ritual in September.

Budapest, Hungary – Experience the country’s rich history and vibrant cityscapes without the buzz of tourists and traffic. Though the temperature begins to come down in September, the weather is still warm enough to comfortably explore the hills around Budapest and Northern Uplands.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ – Vayama.com, the only online travel agency in the United States that specializes in international travel, along with NPR (National Public Radio) stations across the country are partnering together to offer international travel promotions during seasonal pledge drives.  Contributors to the pledge drive automatically receive entry in sweepstakes to win international travel prizes such as airfare and hotel accommodations to destinations worldwide as well as travel vouchers that can be used on Vayama.com.  Participating stations include KQED San Francisco, WNYC New York City, WBUR Boston, and WBEZ Chicago.

“As an international travel company we support and agree with NPR’s objective to provide its audience with a deeper understanding and appreciation of ideas and cultures worldwide,” said Thomas Kent, vice president of marketing at Vayama.com. “We are thrilled to be working with NPR and hope the international travel prizes we are offering encourage people to donate to the organization so they can continue their mission to deliver the most important stories and insights happening worldwide.”

Vayama provided KQED San Francisco, which serves Northern California and is the most listened to public radio station in the nation, with two $1,000 vouchers to be used on Vayama.com. This month KQED hosted a weeklong fundraiser and during one day of the drive two contributors had a chance to win one voucher each.

Also during the month of May, Vayama provided WNYC, New York’s flagship public radio station that broadcasts programs from National Public Radio and Public Radio International, with two $2,000 vouchers to be used on Vayama.com.  During the fundraising drive, contributors were automatically entered into the sweepstakes and two were selected to win the vouchers.

In March, Vayama provided Boston’s WBUR, which produces and airs more than 25 hours of locally produced programs each week and reaches approximately 500,000 listeners weekly, with a trip for two to see Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band live in Dublin on July 18, 2012. The trip to Ireland includes two round-trip flights from Boston and five nights accommodations at the Red Cow Moran Hotel in Dublin.

In October of this year, Vayama will donate travel vouches to WBEZ Chicago, a noncommercial public radio station that has been serving the people of Chicago since 1943. Travel vouchers that can be used on Vayama.com will be a part of WBEZ’s fall fundraiser and listeners will be automatically entered into a raffle for the vouchers upon donation.
