Montenegro Airlines is the national airline of the Republic of Montenegro based in Podgorica Airport. The airline had its beginnings in 1994 as a response to the breakup of the Yugoslavian Republic and the recognition that Montenegro needed its own airline. It continues to expand its route net across Eastern, Central and Western Europe. Montenegro Airlines has code-sharing agreements with Malev, Austrian Airlines and Adria Airlines, and discount agreements on certain routes with the same airlines as well as Lufthansa, Air One, Alitalia and Deutsche Bahn. The airline owns a fleet of Fokker 100 aircrafts with 119 passenger seat capacity and state-of-the art aircraft technology.
