Silk Air is the regional subsidiary of Singapore Airlines offering service to over 20 gateways across Southeast Asia, China, and India including popular holiday destinations such as Cebu, Siem Reap (Angkor Wat), Phuket, Chiang Mai, Danang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Mataram (Lombok), Manado, Trivandrum, and Cochin. Passengers on flights between Singapore and China or India can rent portable video-on-demand (VOD) in-flight entertainment systems, the DigEplayer 5500, which feature classic films, the latest new release blockbusters, and various types of musical programming. Silk Air continues parent company Singapore Airlines’ worldwide reputation for outstanding quality and service and was named ‘Best Regional Airline” in 2006 for the 7th time by TTG Asia's Travel Awards. They also claimed a spot in Travel & Leisure’s list of “Top 10 International Airlines” in both 2005 and 2006, and were the only regional carrier to earn a spot on this prestigious list.
