Flights to Barranquilla
Barranquilla is a large city in the north of Colombia, near the Caribbean Sea. The city lies on the river Magdalena and therefore fulfils an important role as a port city. Barranquilla is known for its carnival festival, which is celebrated here extensively.
One of the most famous parties in Barranquilla is the carnival. Every year, four days before Ash Wednesday (towards the end of February), the city is dominated by cheerful music and lots of partying and dancing people in the colorful costumes.
Besides other festivals, the cultural life of Barranquilla has much more to offer. An important cultural center in the city is the Amira de la Rosa Theater. There are also many art galleries and museums. In the Museo del Caribe for example, you will learn a lot about the nature, history, culture and traditions of the region.
A real family attraction is the Zoologico de Barranquilla, a zoo with about 140 different species of animals. Also get to know the beautiful nature in the area. The city's beaches are a great place for the whole family. Just like the Islas del Rosario national park, which consists of a large group of islands.
