Asiana Airlines is one of the two main airlines in South Korea and is headquarted in Seoul. The airline was established in 1988 and was initially using Boeing 737 Classic planes that flew to Gwangju and Busan. In 1989, Asiana began services to Jeju City and Daegu, and the airline later added charter flights to Sendai in Japan to its roster. In 1990, Asiana began scheduled international flights to Tokyo, Nagoya, Sendai and Fukuoka with its fleet of 9 Boeing 747-400s, 10 Boeing 767-300s and 8 Boeing 737-400s. Services to Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Taipe were added soon after as well as transatlantic flights to Los Angeles. By the mid-1990s, the airline has services to Honolulu, Brussels and Vienna, and in 2003, the airline became a fully-fledged member of the Star Alliance and expanded routes into mainland China.

Economy Class provides excellent value for money with a convenient and pleasant flight, while Economy Smartium offers the same facilities as Economy with 4 inches of extra legroom and easy access to boarding and special in-flight services.
