When is the best weather for your vacation?
If you go on vacation expecting the warm sun, a rain shower may catch you by surprise. Every year, there are a few months in which there is an extra chance of rain. Which countries have a rainy season?
There are rainy seasons in countries like Thailand, Bali, Curacao, Jakarta, Malaysia, Mexico, Suriname, and Cuba. This is the simple rule of thumb: between October and March the Southern Hemisphere is in the rainy season, and from April to September the Northern Hemisphere is in the rainy season.

Which countries have a hurricane season?
On average, only six hurricanes come ashore during a hurricane season. The hurricane season (also called typhoon season in Asia) occurs in countries like Mexico, Curacao, Cuba, Jamaica, Bonaire, the Dominican Republic, Japan and Australia. Strangely enough, you will not encounter hurricanes at the equator or inland. However, if you head towards the Atlantic or Indian Ocean, there is a small chance that you will end up in a hurricane during this period.
What is a hurricane season?
Every year, there are a few months when hurricanes can occur. During these months, the sea is warm enough to collide with the cold wind from the north and form a hurricane. We call this the hurricane season. Hurricanes only occur on the warm sea, so if you are traveling to the Atlantic or Indian Ocean, make sure to look up hurricane season. Feel free to enjoy the sun during this season, but also listen to the locals.

What should you do if you end up in a hurricane?
