China Airlines, owned by China Airlines Group, is the national flag-carrier airline of Taiwan, headquartered at Taipai Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) with major hubs at Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA) and Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH). China Airlines is a member of the international SkyTeam alliance for both passenger and cargo flights. Since 2006, China Airlines have operated under the slogan "Journey with a caring smile", and they are renowned for excellent on-board customer service.

China Airlines operate regular passenger services to over 100 cities across Asia, North America, Europe, and South Pacific, with a total of around 1300 scheduled passenger flights per week between San Francisco, Los Angeles, Ontario (California), Manila, Denpasar Bali, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, and elsewhere. They serve around 20 million passengers every year.

China Airlines currently have 88 operational aircraft in their fleet, the majority of which are modern, wide-bodied airliners including 23 Airbus A330-300, 14 of the larger Airbus A350-900, 18 Boeing 747s, and ten Boeing 777s. China Airlines have an excellent safety rating and are endorsed by the US Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) and certified by the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA). China Airlines Travel Experience

China Airlines offer three different cabin classes: Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class. All Business Class seats have a seat pitch of at least 40 inches and a 140-degree recline, with some over 60" of pitch and up to 166° of recline. Premium Economy seats have a 39" pitch, and standard Economy seats have a 31-32" seat pitch. Every aircraft is fitted with toilets, and some have special baby-changing facilities.

China Airlines' Fantasy Sky in-flight entertainment system, which features games, movies, music, and TV shows, is available on personal seat-back screens for all flights (except those on Boeing 737-800 services). In-flight magazines are available on all flights. Both complimentary and paid WiFi services are available on some flights. 'Western' and 'Asian' on-flight meals are available on all international flights, and personal meal preferences can be ordered in advance. There are in-flight snacks and refreshments on all flights, and a self-service galley bar, the Sky Lounge, for Premium Business Class passengers.

There are four tiers of membership status on China Airlines' Dynasty Flyer program, including the three elite tiers of Paragon, Emerald and Gold. Dynasty Flyer members can also enjoy shared membership benefits with China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, and Xiamen Air under the Great China Connection partnership. China Airlines Check-in & Baggage

Online eCheck-In is open from 48 hours to 1.5 hours before departure, although it is not available for group bookings of over nine people. For domestic flights, passengers who have checked in online should arrive at the airport at least 1 hour prior to departure time, and 2 hours (for online check-in) or 3 hours (for airport check-in) for international flights.

Baggage Information

Allowed Luggage per Cabin Class

Business Class

Business Class passengers can check in up to 2 items of luggage weighing up to 70 lbs (32 kg) each, as long as the combined weight is not more than 88 lbs (40 kg). Passengers can take 2 pieces of carry-on luggage up to 15 lbs (7 kg) each.

Economy Class

Economy Class passengers can check in up to 2 items of luggage weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) each, with a combined weight not exceeding 66 lbs (30 kg). This is increased to 61 lb (28 kg) bags for a 77 lb (35 kg) limit for Premium Economy Class passengers. Both Economy and Premium Economy Class passengers can take 1 piece of carry-on luggage up to 15 lbs (7 kg).

Allowed Luggage Size Dimensions

For all ticket types, the designated carry-on luggage size dimensions are a maximum height of 9 inches (23 cm), width of 14 inches (36 cm), and length of 22 inches (56 cm), for a dimensional limit of 45 inches. The dimensions of each standard check-in bag must not exceed 62 inches (157 cm).

Additional Information

Bags exceeding 62 inches are liable to oversized luggage fees, which differ depending on the flight region. Dynasty Flyer rewards members may be able to upgrade their Economy baggage allowance to a Business Class allowance in special cases. Passengers flying with infants over 14 days old who do not occupy a seat may pay the infant fare. If travelling with two infants, at least one child fare ticket must be purchased.
