France's flag-carrier airline Air France is headquartered in Paris at its hub in Charles de Gaulle Airport. Established in 1933, Air France is owned by the French and Dutch Air France-KLM group and is a member of the SkyTeam alliance. Check-in is possible between 30 hours and 40 minutes prior to departure, allowing you to select your seat and save time at the airport. Check-in is available online via mobile or computer device and excess baggage can also be purchased during check-in. Air France recommends arriving at the airport 2 hours prior to flight departure.
Le Premiere Class
Le Premiere Class passengers can travel with 3 pieces of checked luggage each weighing up to 32 kg/ 70 lbs. In addition, passengers can carry-on 2 pieces of hand luggage and 1 personal item such as a handbag. The total weight of carry-on luggage must not exceed 18 kg/ 40 lbs.
Business Class
Business Class passengers can check 2 pieces of checked luggage each weighing up to 32 kg/ 70 lbs. Passengers can also take 2 pieces of carry-on luggage and 1 personal item such as a handbag, both weighing no more than 18 kg/ 40 lbs.
Premium Economy Class
Those flying Premium Economy can travel with 2 pieces of checked luggage each weighing up to 23 kg/ 50 lbs. Premium Economy passengers can also carry-on 2 pieces of hand luggage and 1 personal item such as a handbag, with a combined weight not exceeding 18 kg/ 40 lbs.
Economy Class
Economy Class passengers are entitled to 1 piece of checked luggage weighing up to 23 kg/ 50 lbs. Those with a Light Fare ticket are not entitled to checked luggage. The carry-on luggage allowance for Economy Class passengers is 1 piece of hand luggage and 1 personal item such as a handbag, with a combined weight not exceeding 12 kg/ 26 lbs.
The combined dimensions (length, width, and height) of checked baggage must not exceed 158 cm/ 62.2 in. Carry-on luggage dimensions (length, width and height) must be within the allowed dimensions of 55 x 35 x 25 cm/ 21.7 x 13.8 x 9.9 in. The dimensions of passengers' personal item must not exceed 40 x 30 x 15 cm/ 16 x 12 x 6 in. The personal item must fit under the seat in front of you. Oversized carry-on luggage will incur a fee, and may need to be transported in the cabin hold with checked luggage.
Infants not occupying a seat are entitled to 10 kg/ 22 lbs of additional checked baggage. Flying Blue Silver, Gold, Platinum, and SkyTeam Elite or Elite Plus members, are allowed 1 additional piece of checked baggage. It must be within the weight allowance for the relevant cabin class. Additional baggage can be purchased ahead of time on Air France's website. Oversized baggage can be purchased at the airport, but the combined dimensions of oversized luggage (length, width, height) can not exceed 300 cm/ 118 in.
